Car dealers and shop owners should take notice.

It is very important to remember, PDR techs specializing in "hail repair" are not trying to push out your local door-ding and dent tech.  They specialize in "hail" repair for a reason, it takes a higher level tech to give you a high level repair. Most shop owners learn this the hard way.  Just remember a good dent repair tech does not work cheap. Cheap pay equals cheap quality!

Research to understand PDR.

For people who don't fully understand PDR and to the people who have had a bad experience, take a little time and do a web search for Paintless Dent Repair / Removal and you will see that there is a VERY WIDE range of companies and techs out there. Knowledge is the key, if you have the basic understanding to how something is done and what it cost, you are less likely to have someone take advantage of you.

Insurance companies would not be writing most hail damage using PDR if it could not repair dents and save money / make money for both shop and the Ins. Companies!

Price is not everything!

Just because someone is a PDR tech, does NOT mean they can repair hail or very large / specialized dents! This is VERY IMPORTANT to remember when looking for a repair shop. It's like going to see a doctor, just because someone is a "doctor" does not mean they are the right person you want to see. If you have a door ding, find the local dealer, got hail damage, find a hail tech THROUGH A LOCAL BODYSHOP!!! Tents are for the circus!!!! And you do get what you pay for in this industry!!! Goes for customers and BodyShop owners.

What can (PDR) Paintless Dent Repair/removal repair?

It's most common use is for repairing door dings, shopping cart dents, and hail damage. All of these dents have limits. Size of the dent, how deep, location, etc. All this come into play with PDR. There are some VERY talented PDR techs in this industry who can repair very large, very deep dents to very high standards. Is that "normal" for a PDR tech, NO, and I would be a lier if I said that every PDR tech can do that level of work.
Experience is key and an independent operator does not have peers to ask or lean on when help is required.

More reasons why you should use PDR (paintless dent repair)

Whether you’re looking to save time and money or you simply want to make a more educated choice when it comes to your vehicle, there are many reasons why paintless dent removal has become the preferred choice for dent repair.

Retain the car’s value. Car panels that have been repaired using traditional body shop work almost always contain body filler and auto paint. These are more detectable to the eye and also detract from the overall value of the car, since you are no longer working with the original exterior. Even if you can’t see the work, the addition of these materials means that your car is worth less in the long run. Paintless dent repair relies only on the expertise of the professional and gentle dent removal tools, leaving your car worth more when it comes time to trade it in or sell it.

Eco-friendly Approach to Dent Removal

Dent Removal in the Past
Traditional dent repair options rely on sanding, paint, body filler, or even new parts to get your car back to looking like new. While these can be effective, they tend to be costly, time-consuming, and hard on our nation's landfills. It is this last challenge that most concerns many consumer today; when you are working and living in locations like Vaughan and the Greater Toronto Area, where some of the greatest innovations in reducing your ecological footprint are available to consumers of all types, unnecessary waste simply doesn't make good, environmental sense.

Body Shops and the Environment
Most body shops are held to strict environmental regulations for a good reason: the chemicals contained in paint, paint removers, paint thinners, and body fillers are dangerous. They typically must be disposed of correctly, recycled, and otherwise contained by spray hoods so that the fumes don't escape into the atmosphere.

Hazardous waste products aren't the only concern, either. When a vehicle undergoes even a slight paint touch-up, there are paper products, tape, and protective gear to contend with. Your auto body repair specialist might also have to spend more than twice as much time and energy in the form of electricity to get the job done!

Paintless Dent Repair is Better for the Environment
Most of these drawbacks can be sidestepped by opting for paintless dent removal. Virtually all of the hazardous waste is taken out of the equation, thanks to the techniques and equipment that allow technicians to simply take advantage of the high-strength metal and resilient paint finish already present on your vehicle. The technician pulls out the dent using specialized equipment that ensures your existing paint isn't ruined in the process.
